SBIR/STTR Training Workshop

October 17 @ 8:30 am - October 18 @ 4:30 pm

The government’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs make over $2.5 billion in high-risk, non-dilutive capital available to innovative small companies annually. The process is complex with a steep learning curve, but the impact of receiving $millions in funding is worth the effort. Attend these sessions, presented by nationally recognized SBIR/STTR expert Michael Kurek, PhD, of the SBIR/STTR consulting firm of BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting (BBCetc).

October 17 – SBIR/STTR Proposal Prep for NIH
The NIH has over $800M available each year SBIR/STTR funding. Review the SBIR/STTR program basics and then learn how to plan your project, engage with the NIH, approach each section of your proposal and write to meet reviewer expectations. Feedback from 20 years of attendees has overwhelmingly endorsed this session as a critical component in successful proposal development.

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

October 18 – NSF and DOD SBIR/STTR Program Overviews and 1:1 Sessions
This program will cover the distinguishing features and technology areas addressed by both NSF and DOD, review process differences, writing for maximum impact, how to approach commercialization planning, and more. Afternoon sessions will allow for 1:1 sessions with BBCetc.

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Cost: Free for selected Anschutz Medical Campus Teams (application below) and $250 for external companies.

Why you should attend:
