 BioGenerator SBIR/STTR Proposal Preparation Workshop The workshop will end with 1-on-1 assessments that allow competitive applications to receive free support for September 5 submission. If you have an idea you would like to share with us for the assessment, please fill out the assessment form latest by May 29.  BioGenerator and BBC bring this workshop to cover all aspects of writing an SBIR/STTR proposal focused on life science technologies. The workshop will include information on the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation programs, though it is timed to aid in proposal preparation for the September 5, 2019, NIH deadline and detailed emphasis will be placed on the NIH process. Training will begin with SBIR/STTR basics, including eligibility requirements, participating agencies, difference between SBIR/STTR, and essential information about the NSF program.  The workshop is conducted by SBIR/STTR expert, Becky Aistrup, Managing Partner at BBC, with a background in business incubation, acceleration services and early-stage investing. CLICK TO REGISTER About this Event Through the federal SBIR/STTR program, the Department of Defense (DoD) provides over $1 billion annually in non-dilutive grant and contract funding to qualified small businesses to advance and commercialize game-changing technologies. This training event will cover the basics of DoD’s SBIR/STTR program. Attendees will learn the differences between DoD components, tips on identifying a topic, the importance of talking to Technical Points of Contact (TPOC’s), how to approach proposal sections, and writing to meet reviewer expectations. Training is in Conference Room 2, Main Lobby. About the Trainer: Jerry Hollister, Principal Consultant - BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting (BBCetc)  Jerry Hollister is a BBCetc Principal Consultant, joining the company in 2017 with 30 years of leadership experience in government, higher education, non-profit and for-profit enterprises. After earning an engineering degree from the University of Michigan, he served as commissioned Naval Officer in the Civil Engineer Corps and a warranted Contracting Officer for the Dept. of Defense. Prior to joining BBCetc, Jerry was Chief Operating Officer for Michigan-based Niowave, a developer of superconducting electron accelerators, where he worked to build the successful start-up company from 2008-17.
