Join this 1-hour NASA overview and hear directly from the source about the SBIR Ignite program and what’s needed to submit a successful proposal. Attendees will gain insight into the open Phase II SBIR solicitation and learn specifics about the new NASA BAA and the upcoming appendices. Following the presentation, there will be time for Q&A with the presenter.

Jason L. Kessler
Jason Kessler provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for NASA’s SBIR and STTR programs, which invest more than $200 million annually in early-stage innovation. Each year, these programs select over 550 technology projects, partnering with more than 300 U.S. small businesses and entrepreneurs to advance capabilities critical to the nation’s space enterprise.
Before returning to NASA for his third tour, Jason served as a Senior Advisor to the Global Knowledge Initiative (GKI), where he blended strategy, design, facilitation, and coaching to create systems-focused learning experiences aimed at expanding the impact of science and technology in the developing world.
Jason has spent over 15 years at NASA, including service from 2013 to 2016 as a Program Executive in the Office of the Chief Technologist. Outside of government, he has also founded and led several entrepreneurial ventures as a consultant and business owner.

The Michigan SBIR/STTR Assistance Program provides SBIR/STTR training and proposal development services to technology companies with costs covered in whole or in part by the state. The program is funded by the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF), administered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and managed by BBC Entrepreneurial Training & Consulting.
