The Special Program Awards for Required Technology Needs (SPARTN) is a new program blending government and industry best practices to introduce a whole-of-Army, collaborative approach to innovative solutions. SPARTN was created to incentivize small technology firms to work with the Department of Defense to propose Army modernization solutions. Register Now   SPARTN Presenter: Casey Perley, PhD Dr. Perley is an Army biodefense scientist with a decade of experience studying infectious diseases that threaten U.S. soldiers and the public. She spent over 3,000 hours studying deadly pathogens in high containment facilities (i.e., Biosafety Level 3 and 4) and has extensive knowledge of and experience with dual use research of concern. She also has expertise in early-stage vaccine design and evaluation though to Phase II clinical trials. Her most recent work as the Director of Insights and Analysis for the Army Applications Lab focuses on identifying, assessing, and rapidly transitioning disruptive technology into the Army.
