This all-day training workshop is designed to provide in depth guidance on how to write a compelling SBIR/STTR Proposal to the National Science Foundation and/or the National Institutes of Health. Both agencies will be covered this session!  Learn how the SBIR/STTR programs work, how to plan your approach, and follow a step-by-step process to writing a compelling NIH and/or NSF SBIR/STTR proposal. Topics Covered Include: How to engage with NIH/NSF in advance to vet your ideas; Writing specific aims; What does "feasibility" mean; What to know about proposal reviewers; Commercialization plan requirements for each agency; Budget basics - A step by step guide for writing your proposal!  BioGenerator SBIR/STTR Proposal Preparation Workshop The workshop will end with 1-on-1 assessments that allow competitive applications to receive free support for September 5 submission. If you have an idea you would like to share with us for the assessment, please fill out the assessment form latest by May 29.  BioGenerator and BBC bring this workshop to cover all aspects of writing an SBIR/STTR proposal focused on life science technologies. The workshop will include information on the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation programs, though it is timed to aid in proposal preparation for the September 5, 2019, NIH deadline and detailed emphasis will be placed on the NIH process. Training will begin with SBIR/STTR basics, including eligibility requirements, participating agencies, difference between SBIR/STTR, and essential information about the NSF program.  The workshop is conducted by SBIR/STTR expert, Becky Aistrup, Managing Partner at BBC, with a background in business incubation, acceleration services and early-stage investing. Grant and contracts management expert, Kris Bergman, will provide the budget preparation webinar on May 30. Presented by SBIR/STTR expert Jerry Hollister, the workshop will provide detailed instruction on how to write a competitive proposal that meets the mission and standards of the NIH and NSF SBIR/STTR programs. Who Should Attend: Connecticut-based entrepreneurs interested in SBIR/STTR funding. The workshop is free of charge; however, registration is required.
